What is Mentalism

At the middle of my shows (close-up magic shows), I always introduce the art of mentalism. Then people would ask "Mentalism ano yan? Para sa mga baliw?". I always get this statement.
I give them a very direct answer at the same time let them experience what mentalism is.

Here's an example:

"I will give you a very simple instruction, easy to understand, easy to follow. All you have to do is listen and 
follow my instruction by heart and by mind. Ready?"

"Alright, here's my instruction... DONT THINK OF A BLACK CAT!"

"Now even if i told you not to think of a black cat, the picture of a black cat appears in your mind right? You can't stop of thinking of a black cat." - that's mentalism for you in its simplest form.

What is Mentalism?

It is an art that utilizes the wonders of the Human Mind. As they say, the human mind is a realm of many possibilities. In mentalism feats such as mind reading, thought transposition, telepathy, precognition, and more are being performed.

Some famous mentalists are Steve "Banachek" Shaw, Derren Brown, Theodore Annemann, Uri Geller. Mentalism started to be performed during the late 1500's. It is a rare craft unlike magic as to mentalists are rare to find.

Would you believe if a person could read the very thoughts you are thinking now? Would you believe a person could influence your thoughts without even saying a word? Would you believe
that a person could go down the very depths of your mind? Would you believe I can do these
things?
